Terms of Service
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Welcome to Ekklesia. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. Please read them.
Who can use Ekklesia
You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding agreement. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure.
Your content
You keep ownership of the events, messages, and other content you post. You grant us a limited licence to host and display that content so the app can function (for example, showing your event in others' feeds).
You are responsible for what you post. Do not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or that infringes others' rights, and do not misrepresent events or impersonate others or any parish or organization.
Events and gatherings
Events are created by users, not by Ekklesia. We do not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for any event, organizer, venue, or attendee. Use your own judgment and take normal precautions when meeting people or attending gatherings. Parish listings are informational and a "verified" badge does not make us responsible for that parish.
Acceptable use
Do not abuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts, and do not use the app to spam or to collect others' information without consent.
Moderation and termination
We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community. You may stop using Ekklesia and delete your account at any time.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user content or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ekklesia and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from events, gatherings, or interactions between users.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
